Jaguar Land Rover has taken a significant step into the electric vehicle market with the introduction of its first fully electric Range Rover SUV in the UK. Priced from £154,070, prospective buyers can now place their orders, with deliveries anticipated to commence in 2027. This move underscores the company’s commitment to transitioning toward electric mobility, with the Range Rover Electric set to be produced at its Solihull manufacturing plant in the UK.
The new luxury SUV is equipped with dual electric motors that generate up to 550PS and 850Nm of torque, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. Under the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP), it boasts an impressive range of up to 372 miles on a single charge. Central to its design is a 118.5kWh battery, which supports 800-volt fast charging technology, enabling a charge from 10% to 80% in about 22 minutes when ideal conditions are met.
Incorporating a blend of the brand’s traditional luxury and cutting-edge electric performance, the Range Rover Electric maintains its renowned off-road capabilities. It features enhanced aerodynamic elements and an electric powertrain, alongside the ability to navigate water depths of up to 900mm. This combination of features ensures that the vehicle remains true to the Range Rover ethos while embracing a more sustainable future.
This new model comes after several years of dedicated development and rigorous testing to ensure that it meets the high standards expected of the Range Rover name. Supporting its production, Jaguar Land Rover’s Wolverhampton facility plays a crucial role, as it is responsible for manufacturing the battery packs and electric drive units essential for the vehicle’s operation.
