Vietnam and France have reiterated their dedication to bolstering their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, emphasizing enhanced collaboration across various sectors such as diplomacy, trade, defense, energy, technology, and infrastructure. This commitment was underscored during discussions held in Hanoi, where both nations assessed the progress of their bilateral relations and concurred on the need to expedite the execution of their partnership action plan.
Vietnam emphasized the importance of deeper cooperation with France in defense, cybersecurity, nuclear energy, science and technology, critical minerals, and significant infrastructure projects. Furthermore, Vietnam urged France to accelerate the ratification process of the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and to continue advocating for the removal of the European Union’s “yellow card” sanction on Vietnamese seafood exports.
France, recognizing Vietnam as a pivotal strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region, expressed a strong interest in expanding collaborative efforts in areas such as nuclear energy, rare earths, satellite technology, transportation infrastructure, healthcare, and cultural exchanges. The French side underscored the importance of Vietnam in its regional strategy and highlighted opportunities for further strengthening ties.
In addition to bilateral cooperation, both countries committed to enhancing their coordination on regional and global matters. They pledged to promote multilateralism, engage in constructive dialogue, and support sustainable development initiatives. This shared vision is expected to contribute to regional stability and prosperity.
